Hello, my name is Joe Starr and I am the owner of Starr Writing, a freelance commercial writing business serving Madison, Wisconsin and its surrounding communities. 

I am also publisher of the Buy Local Madison HubPage.  If you scroll to the bottom of this page you will see links to my restaurant reviews and Story Sites (aka Hubs) on The Buy Local Madison HubPage.  All the reviews and Story Sites belong to the Buy Local Madison  HubPage, which is an online community of Madison, Wisconsin area businesses sharing great stories about who they are and what they do with the hundreds of people who come online looking for them each week.  The reviews and Story Sites are interlinked, so visitors easily move from one site to the next and learn about all the dining, shopping and services Madison has to offer.

I keep the spotlight local to maintain the focus on businesses that serve people in the Madison area.  I also do it because I live and work in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin, which is about 10 minutes east of Madison.  I have written  for several publications in the area, including the Wisconsin State Journal, Madison Magazine and The Capital Region Business Journal.  I know the area, I know the businesses and I know the people. 

I have worked professionally as a writer and editor for more than 12 years.  My experience ranges several disciplines, including print journalism, public relations, marketing and advertising.  I serve a wide variety of business clients through my freelance writing business, which definitely keeps my work fun and interesting.  I love learning about my clients and helping them achieve their goals.
